Since around the seventeenth century, Talavera pottery has been produced in the Puebla when Franciscan friars taught the local Indians the special techniques that they brought with them from Spain. Objects such as vases, cups, plates, bowls and tiles were all created using the Talavera style and the techniques that were learned centuries ago are still largely in use today.
